Responding to Writers

A group of students were lucky enough to listen to the author Andy Griffiths talk about his writing. They were really excited by his talk and decided to write some book reviews of his and other books they liked.

They decided that a great way to share book reviews would be through video. They thought kids would find them more engaging. The school librarian has agreed to provide links to the reviews on the library website. The students are learning to use green screens to enhance their movies.

Room 10 Rocks!

Room 10 is a class of Year 3 and 4 students who have really embraced digital media as a way of sharing their learning with the world beyond school. The Adobe suite enables this to happen so they can creatively share their work. Their first set of podcasts received more than 6000 hits within a month. For an 8 year old having that many hits on your work "rocks"!

Check out some of their work here http://carolinesclass.posterous.com/

Developing our Movie Making Skills

Knowing that Adobe Premiere was going to become a key part of our creative software tools we needed to learn how to make good quality movies. Our plan is to set up a movie studio at the school in 2011 so a visit to Capital e was a must. Check out a short photo story of our trip.
